Kids under the age of 12 are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes and compete in a costume contest before the Trail of Treats begins! In conjunction with Salem Parks and Recreation's Trail of Treats, Salem Public Library and the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce will host a contest for the best-dressed tricksters! The contest runs from 2 - 3 PM at the Orashan Band Shell at Waterworth Memorial Park and will be finished in plenty of time for the trail so you are encouraged to participate in both activities! The Trail of Treats will officially run from 3 - 5 PM after the costume contest.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

Most Creative

Best Group

No registration is required to participate and while the judges love kids acting the part of their costume, entrants don't need to do anything more than show up looking their most Halloween-y and line in up the category in which they wish to participate! Dress up the whole family and come out to the park for an evening of dressing up, fun, and lots of treats!
